The Canada Greener Homes Loan offers homeowners the chance to upgrade their windows and doors with a 10-year, interest-free loan! With this loan, you can receive up to $40,000 per property for the necessary retrofits, including the installation of new windows and doors. The amount homeowners will receive is calculated based on the required retrofits, decided through the Energy Assessment completed at the beginning of the loan application.

• You must be a Canadian homeowner, with your home as your primary residence.
• You must have completed a pre-retrofit evaluation of your home on or after April 1, 2020.
• You need to have a good credit history and should not be under:

1. A consumer proposal
2. An orderly payment of debt program
3. Bankruptcy or any equivalent insolvency proceeding

• You will be required to provide financial information to prove your ability to repay the loan.

1. An Energy Assessment needs to be completed
2. Loan application before any retrofits have started
3. Upload your official quote sent from NorthShield Windows and Doors
4. Once approved you can request up to 15% of the full loan amount to pay initial deposits
5. Complete the retrofits
6. Organize a follow-up energy assessment
7. Upload the results of the assessment and retrofit invoices
8. Receive the full loan amount
