Like many older homes throughout Winnipeg, the original windows had reached the end of their useful lifespan.
Several insulated glass units had failed, allowing moisture to form between the panes of glass. In addition to affecting visibility, the failed units reduced the overall performance of the windows. The homeowner also noticed drafts around multiple window openings, particularly during Winnipeg’s colder months.
Over time, exposure to changing temperatures and seasonal weather conditions had caused some of the wood frames to warp. As a result, several windows no longer opened and closed properly, creating both comfort and functionality concerns.
