A Vaughan home built in 2010 received approximately 35 black triple-glass windows and three replacement doors, installed brick-to-brick with custom interior trim and Low-E 366 glass for rooms with extra sun exposure.
This window and door replacement project was completed for a Vaughan, Ontario home built in 2010. The homeowners contacted NorthShield because their existing windows were very drafty, humidity was building up on the glass, and they wanted to refresh the exterior look of the house.
The customer had done research and wanted a company that could provide highly efficient replacement windows. NorthShield supplied black triple-glass windows, giving the home a modern exterior finish while addressing comfort, draft control and condensation concerns. For homeowners planning a similar window and door replacement in Vaughan, this project shows how appearance and performance can be upgraded together.
The recommendation was to use NorthShield’s most efficient window package: triple glass with high energy-efficiency ratings. At the back of the home, the rooms were overheating and receiving too much sun, so the team used Low-E 366 glass to block more solar heat while still keeping the rooms bright.
The installation method was brick-to-brick, completed with custom interior trim work. This allowed the team to remove the old units properly, insulate around the new frames and finish the openings cleanly. The project also included three replacement doors, giving the home a more complete exterior update with better comfort and security. This type of project pairs well with NorthShield’s broader replacement window options and door options.
The project included approximately 35 windows and three doors. A four-person NorthShield installation crew completed the work over three days, starting from the top floor and working their way down through the home in an organized sequence.
Every day, the crew cleaned the work areas and disposed of the removed windows and job-site materials. The finished result gave the homeowners black triple-glass windows, improved draft control, reduced humidity issues and solar-control glass where the home needed it most.
