NorthShield used a combination of casement windows, fixed windows, sliding windows and single-hung windows for this project. At the front of the house, casement windows were selected to create a more uniform appearance and provide strong operation and sealing.
For the back of the home, sliding windows were used where convenience and easy operation were the priorities. The window configuration also included a quarter-half-quarter style, giving the homeowner maximum glass area in the centre of the window with larger openings on each side for airflow. This kind of planning helps balance ventilation, natural light and appearance. Homeowners comparing styles can learn more in NorthShield’s guide to casement versus double-hung windows.
